If opening an account in the Bank Online sounds scary to you, it’s not! It is not as complex as it sounds; it is very similar to opening an account visiting the nearest branch. You don’t need to wait in the bank as you could open an account online in less than 10-15 mins. There are just a few easy steps you could follow to open a bank account online. Given below are the steps to open your bank account online.

1.You would require to fill in your details

Once you go to the bank’s website and click on the ‘open new account’ button it would ask you to fill in all your details on a form. These personal details would include name, address, age, email id, mobile number, etc. You would need to ensure that all the details filled in are correct as it may cause an inconvenience in the future. The bank would then send you an OTP on your registered email id and mobile number which you would be required to enter. These details are then saved in the bank’s database.

2.You would be asked to submit a scanned copy of your documents

This is one of the main steps to open an account in the bank online. The site would then ask you to share a scanned copy of your documents. They would require documents for your identification; you may submit your Aadhaar card, voter’s id, PAN card, etc. They would need your address proof as well; you may submit your Aadhaar card, voter’s id, etc. If you have lost your PAN card, you could submit ‘Form 16A’, which is a document which is provided by your employer stating that TDS is deducted from our salary. Two latest photographs will also be required by the bank.

3.Video KYC will be done

As you are opening an account in the Bank online and not visiting the branch, the bank does a video KYC (know your customer) where you would have to be visible in front of the camera for the banks’ record. This is done for the safety of your account.

4.Document verification process would take place

The bank would then send a person from the bank within 2-3 working days to your place to verify all the documents which were submitted to the bank. You would be asked to show your original documents as well for verification. This process should not take long once the documents are verified and you would receive a confirmation mail from the bank.

5.You would receive all the documents from the bank

Once you get a confirmation of your account opening, you would receive all the documents such as debit card and cheque book via courier within 7-10 working days by the bank. The entire process is really that simple.
